Package Overview

Ride on rapids of river Alaknanda with this 7 day river rafting expedition from Chamoli to Rishikesh. In this tour you will experience Rapids of Grade 2 to Grade 5 during rafting and will take 7 days to complete this trip. One can experience high rapids on this stretch which includes Hillary Fall, Kakad Fall, The Wall, etc. We will welcome you with a refreshing drink and will explain about rules of river rafting. Other than rafting, you can enjoy cliff jumping and body surfing with beach volleyball as well. Food, breakfast and dinner will be provided on all days accompanied by bonfire during night. Accommodation will be in beach side luxury camp. Level of difficulty in this expedition is certainly high and meant for audacious people.Any personal expenses like Laundry, STD calls, etc.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival at Alaknanda River Adventure Camp

  On arrival at Alaknanda River Adventure Camp meet & greet by our camp manager followed by briefing about camps, do’s & dont’s, tent allotment & later hot lunch at our dining area. After lunch our camp manager will brief you the day’s plan. Post lunch our river rafting expert will brief you about the rafting techniques, get ready for river rafting exercise from our Camp to Shivpuri, this is thrilling run and one will encounter rapids like Three Blind Mice, Cross Fire, etc. End the rafting at Shivpuri and drive back to Alaknanda River Adventure Camp. On arrival at camp, enjoy your evening snacks along with a cup of tea/coffee. Bonfire & Dinner by riverside at our dining area. Overnight stay at deluxe tents.
• Day 2 : Alaknanda River Adventure Camp – Chamoli

  In the morning after breakfast we will drive towards Upper Alaknanda River Rafting section at Chamoli. On the way visit Devprayag (confluence of holy Ganges; in this place the River Alaknanda & Bhagirathi meet and the holy Ganges start from here). On arrival at Chamoli check in to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.
• Day 3 : Chamoli – Kaldubagarh (29 kms on River)

  In the morning after breakfast we will walk towards Alaknanda River along with our raft & safety Kayak. After briefing about day’s river rafting & rapids on the way, you will start your Alaknanda river rafting thrill on river Alaknanda. Today, we will raft 30 kms with nearly 30+ rapids, including the most dangerous rapid called Hillary Fall (There might be chances to portage this rapid, depend on team member). This is the rapid where Sir Edmund Hillary’s Expedition (Ocean to Sky) ended, being powerless to journey up this rapid. One can need lots of power to fight with such kind of rapids. After this rapid, on the way we will encounter grade 2 to 3 rapids and by late afternoon we will reach our camping site, place called Kaldubagarh. Enjoy your evening, enjoy the camp life along with you river expert. Dinner & overnight stay by the river side in alpine tents.

  • Themes Camping
• Day 4 : Kaldubagarh – Gauchar (19 kms on river)

  Enjoy the mouth watering breakfast by riverside and later get ready for another river rafting thrill on Alaknanda River till Gauchar. Today we will encounter rapid like grade +3, and it will take approx 4 hrs. On the way will encounter rapid in Langashu & Karanprayag. Later afternoon arrive at Gauchar for a hot lunch nearby river. Overnight at camp.
• Day 5 : Gauchar – Rudraprayag (28 kms on river)

  Today we will raft down toward another thrilling spot called Rudraprayag, on the way we will encounter rapid called Kakar Fall (Deer) and there might be a chance to portage on this rapid depending on team members & guide. This day we will sleep in cozy beds in GMVN hotel at Rudraprayag.
• Day 6 : Rudraprayag – Maletha (34 kms on river)

  The day start with a cup of tea/coffee, later after breakfast gets ready for another rafting thrill on river Alaknanda. Today the rapid called – The Holy Hole in Rudraprayag will try your paddling; it’s on the confluence of river Alaknanda & Mandakini. On this section you will fight with numerous rapids as well as lots of scenic beauty of the Garhwal hills. (Lunch on the way; served by our ground staff at Srinagar). Arrive at camp by late afternoon. Relax in camp & by evening enjoy you snacks/Tea/Coffee with your River expert. Bonfire & dinner by the Riverside at the camp. Overnight stay at camp.
• Day 7 : Maletha – Devprayag

  Early in the morning, see the Rohu fish jumping in front of you in the in river and later after breakfast get ready for your Alaknanda river rafting run toward Devprayag (Confluence of the Alaknanda & Bhagirathi River; from here the holy Ganges starts). From Devprayag we will drive towards Alaknanda River Adventure Camp. On your arrival at camp, check in & later enjoy your day at rest. Dinner & overnight stay at Camp.
• Day 8 : Departure Alaknanda River Adventure Camp

  In the morning after breakfast check out from camp and depart for onward destination.
