The 7-day Machame Route, also known as the "Whiskey Route," is a popular and scenic path to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. This extended itinerary provides an extra day for acclimatization, increasing your chances of a successful summit. The route offers diverse landscapes, including rainforests, moorlands, and alpine deserts.

Acclimatization: This 7-day itinerary includes an extra day for acclimatization at Karanga Camp, improving your chances of a successful summit.
Physical Preparation: Ensure you are physically prepared for the trek with regular cardiovascular and strength training exercises.
Packing List: Essential items include sturdy hiking boots, thermal layers, waterproof gear, a hat, gloves, sunglasses, a headlamp, trekking poles, and a sleeping bag.
Hydration and Nutrition: Drink plenty of water and eat high-energy snacks throughout the trek. Your guides will provide meals and boiling water.
Guides and Porters: Professional guides and porters will support you throughout the climb, carrying supplies and assisting with camp setup.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Machame Gate to Machame Camp

  Elevation: 1,640 meters (5,380 feet) to 2,835 meters (9,300 feet)
  Distance: 11 km (7 miles)
  Hiking Time: 5-7 hours
  Habitat: Rainforest
  Description: Begin your trek at Machame Gate. After registration, hike through the lush rainforest, where you may see colobus monkeys and other wildlife. Arrive at Machame Camp in the late afternoon.

• Day 2 : Machame Camp to Shira Camp

  Description: Leave the rainforest and continue up a steep ridge, entering the moorland zone. Enjoy views of the Shira Plateau and Kibo Peak. Reach Shira Camp by mid-afternoon.

  Description: Begin the summit push at midnight, trekking through the Arctic zone to reach Uhuru Peak at sunrise. After celebrating your achievement, descend to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing to Mweka Camp.
