Package Overview

Sumba is an island in Eastern Indonesia and one of the Lesser Sunda islands located in the province of East Nusa Tenggara.鈥⊿umba has an area of 11.153 square km and a population of 685,000.
The largest town on the island is the main port of Waingapu with 53,000 people.鈥═he landscape is low, limestone hills, rather than the steep volcanoes of many Indonesian islands.鈥―ue to its distinctive flora and fauna Sumba has been categorised by the World Wildlife Fund as the Sumba deciduous forests ecoregion.
There are a number of mammals but the island is particularly rich in birdlife with nearly 200 birds of which seven endemic species and a number of others are found only here.
Sumba has a highly stratified society based on castes, this is especially true of East Sumba whereas West Sumba is more ethnically and linguistically diverse.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Denpasar 鈥� Tambulaka

  Upon arrive at TAMBULAKA Airport of west Sumba, you are welcome by your guide then transfer to HOTEL for accommodation. Afternoon proceed to Waitabula for visit Sumba Cultural Houses, traditional Market where the local people activities selling and buying their daily life need include the hand weaving. next to WAIKELO Harbor . Return to Hotel.
• Day 2 : Waitabula 鈥� Kodi 鈥� Tambolaka

  After breakfast at Hotel, the tour will be visiting KODI AREA for its Parona baroro and Rotenggaro Village then Proceed to PERO Beach, Afternoon visit PASOLA Field and RANGGA BAKI Village which has its own unique traditional event usually held on October where hundred of animals be sacrificed as the offering to their ancestor, continue to WAIKELO SAWAH to see the wonderful waterfall that come from a big cave with a natural pool for swimming and using for irigation. Afternoon drive to hotel, check in and overnight.
• Day 3 : Tambolaka 鈥� Wanukaka 鈥� Lamboya Area

  After breakfast at Hotel, Proceed for day tour to WANUKAKA . on the way we will make a short stop at LAPALE for enjoying the fantastic widest rice field view with Wanukaka beach background. Continue to KAMPUNG WAIGALI to see the SKULL TREE which was dedicated to the war Merapu and was used as the altar for the rites following head hunting Proceed to PASOLA field at LAIHURUK. Afternoon visit Prai Goly , waiwuang village to see the oldest stone grave called 鈥淲atu Kajiwa 鈥� which believe as their ancestor鈥檚 boat. Proceed to LAMBOYA and stop at , Waru wora and Wuntalaka Village located on the hill . Afternoon return to hotel.
• Day 4 : Manandang 鈥� Waigapu 鈥� City Tour

  After breakfast at Hotel, check out and start drive overland to Waingapu ( East of Sumba ) within 137 kms distance . On the way stop can be made to PASUNGA village to see the Greatest stone Grave and the traditional houses of Sumbanese . You will visit Prai Liu and Kallu Village, to see the Central of Ikat process, return to Hotel for overnight.
• Day 5 : Waingapu 鈥� Melolo 鈥� Rende

  After Breakfast at Hotel drive for 62 kms to MELOLO, to see the traditional village of PAU DAN RENDE VILLAGE to see the royal tomb which were made from the megalithic stone ,afternoon drive back to Hotel.
• Day 6 : Waingapu 鈥� Departure

  After breakfast at Hotel, free until time to transfer to Airport for your flight to next destination.
