Package Overview

Resting in the depths of the Himalayas in Uttarakhand, a lake where Lord Brahma is said to have meditated according to mythology, is one of the few treks that can be done during the winter months when most trekking routes are closed. The trek treats you to soaring views of some lofty mountain peaks such as Mt. Trishul, Mt Nanda Ghunti, and Mt. Khamet.
The glacial lake is located at a height of 3180 meters, this trek hosts one of the loveliest forest walks that are home to diverse bird species and century-old oak trees. This trek’s trail is completely coated in snow, but during spring, the trails of these forests are carpeted in the red and pink blooms of rhododendrons. From this trek, you can see much of the Roopkund route, including views of Ali Bugyal, Bedni Bugyal, and Junargali. The walk is entirely inside a coniferous forest with Cedar, Oak, and Fir trees.
Brahmatal is now largely unchanged and serene due to its lack of popularity. The best time to go on the Brahmatal Trek is between December and February.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Dehradun to Lohajung, Distance 300 kms, 8-9 hrs drive

  Expect to arrive in Lohajung in the late evening, between 8 and 9 p.m. The path passes through the picturesque Devprayag and Karnprayag regions. Check into a guesthouse for the night, have dinner, and sleep early. Lohajung, at 2300 meters, is also a small mountain pass that connects the Gwaldam and Wan sides of the mountain.

• Day 2 : Trek from Lohajung to Bekaltal, Trek distance: 7 kms, 5-6 hrs trek

  Start your trek with a packed lunch after breakfast. Starts by climbing the man-made stone trail just outside of Lohajung. The route offers spectacular views of Nandaghunti Peak. The walk is mainly within a coniferous forest with Cedar, Oak, and Fir trees. Bekaltal (2750 m) is a lovely lake that is normally frozen in January and February. The trek to Bekaltal is approximately 7 kilometers long and takes 5-6 hours to complete. Bekaltal Lake is surrounded by oak trees and makes for a lovely camping spot. We're going to spend the night here.

• Day 3 : Trek from Bekaltal to Brahmatal, Trek distance: 5 kms, 4-5 hrs trek

  Early in the morning, we leave camp and begin our trek to Brahmatal (3400 meters), where Lord Brahma is said to have meditated many years ago. Monal, Uttrakhand's state bird, lives in this area. Your cameras will be busy today with views of peaks like Trishul, Bithartoli, and Nandaghunti. Brahmatal Lake is a small body of water that is difficult to spot from afar, particularly in the winter when it is fully frozen. We'll locate a suitable camping location near the lake and set up camp for the night. Winters can be bitterly cold here, but our camps and sleeping bags can keep us warm throughout the night.

• Day 4 : Trek from Brahmatal to Brahmatal top & back to Brahmatal, trek distance: 5-6 kms, 5-6 hrs.

  Today is a simple day. Since we will be returning to the same camp, you can opt to bring a daypack and leave your backpack at the camp. We hike to the top of Brahmatal ( 3846 M). On your right, you'll see spectacular views of the Himalayan range. Mt. Trishul and Nandaghunti are two of the most famous peaks, which appear to be so similar that you might be viewing them on a movie screen. Head back to the camp even though you wouldn't want to leave behind the picturesque of the top.

• Day 5 : Trek from Brahmatal top Lohajung, Trek distance: 11 kms, 5-6 hrs trek

  The glorious trek comes to an end on this day. We'll return to Lohajung via the same trail after taking in the best views of the snow-covered trail and mountains. By late afternoon, we'll be in Lohajung. This day could be used to relax as well as explore the small town and listen to the locals tell mythological tales and learn about their culture. The guest house is where you should stay.

Things To Carry For The Trek

• Footwear: The trekking boots which must be waterproof and snowproof, normal boots, floaters, and woolen socks.
• Backpack: (50 ltr), Daypack (20-30 ltr), Duffel bag.
• Clothes: Jacket and trousers that are both waterproof and breathable. Jacket (synthetic or down feather fleece), synthetic insulated trousers, poncho, sweatshirt, inner thermal (upper & lower), fleece, t-shirts, cotton trekking pants, shorts
• Season-wise Clothes: Hand and head protection include liner gloves, bandannas, sun hats, woolen caps, and face masks, among other things.
• Accessories: Sunglasses/goggles, anti-glare lenses, water bottle, hydra bag, and headlamp with spare bulb and extra batteries are all recommended.
• Trekking Gears: Toolkit for an emergency. Sunscreen, a toiletry pack, water purification pills, Ziploc packs, ear plugs, a first-aid kit, and the necessary medications are all recommended.
• Camping Equipment: Sleeping bags of lining (extreme -5 to +5 Celsius if you have one), trekking sticks, and so on.
• Warm top/light micro fleece pullover/full sleeve T-shirt – 2/3
• Water-resistant/repellent trekking pants with an inner lining for added warmth- 2 High-quality windproof/water-resistant outer shells (jacket) with a proper hood
• Thick Fleece / Full-sleeve Woollen Jumper, Down Jacket with at least 600 full capacity Innerwear with a thermal component (upper and lower)
• Woolen hat, inner fleece gloves, and outer water-resistant gloves
• 4–5 pairs of thick woolen socks and standard socks, scarf/muffler (optional)
• Waterproof Trekking/Hiking shoes with a thick heel and high ankles that are comfortable to wear. Sneakers/sports shoes are ideal for camp.
• Poncho or raincoat. A small, light-weight towel
• A hydration pack and an insulated water bottle (optional)
• Sunglasses with UV cover and the potential to cut light, as well as a cap or floppy hat to shield the strong sun off your skin (important when traversing through snow)
• Trekking pole or sturdy walking stick Lip Balm, Sunscreen Lotion

• 6 tablets each of Norflox TZ and Lomofen (diarrhea) 10 tablets of Digene (acidity)
• 10 Omez/Rantadine capsules (antacids) 3 to 5 meters of crepe bandage
• 1 tiny roll of gauze 10 strips of bandage 1 small roll of cotton 10 packets of ORS
• Moov spray Betadine or other antiseptic creams (aches, & sprains)
• If you're vulnerable to knee injuries, you should wear a knee cap.
• Powder with antifungal properties

• The above-mentioned Itinerary is completely interdependent on weather conditions, so please make sure you pay heed to the cab driver's suggestions.
