4 Nights / 5 Days
This safari takes you to four of the best national parks in Tanzania.
Lake Manyara is a good soft introduction to the safari experience. It is a magical and pretty park that winds its way around a mainly forested driving route between the banks of Soda Water Lake and the impressive rise of the Great Rift escarpment.
The Serengeti National Park is justifiably famous for its huge concentrations of wildlife, especially the big cats, as well as being the stomping ground of the Great Migration, a massive accumulation of 1.5 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebras and 350,000 gazelles stretching their legs over 1,200 miles in an annual race to find enough water and green grass for their survival.
The Ngoro Ngoro Crater is the world's largest intact caldera in an exceptional geographical position, forming a spectacular bowl of about 265 sq. km with sides up to 600m deep. It is home to as many as 20,000 to 30,000 wild animals at any given time.
The last national park on your itinerary is the Tarangire National Park, one of the more seasonal parks of Tanzania that boasts of great migratory movement and is a haven for bird lovers. The park also offers stunning scenery with its baobab-dotted landscape and presents a breath-taking concentration of elephants during the dry season.
Pick up at 6:30 AM from your hotel in Arusha and depart for Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch for a full day game drive. Tanzania鈥檚 third largest National park is known for its majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River is the centerpiece of this park which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. Here you may see lion, leopard, cheetah, lesser kudu, buffalo, Oryx, eland, giraffe and zebra. Post the game drive, you will head back to your lodge where a delicious dinner awaits you.

You will have an afternoon game drive in the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. A picnic lunch will be done during the day long game drive itself. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night鈥檚 rest in your accommodation.

Breakfast at around 0800am. Proceed with morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti with a lunch and leisure break at the Camp in the midafternoon. The term Serengeti means endless plains in Masaai language. In the central plains there are carnivores like leopard, lion, hyena and cheetah. This park is normally the scene of the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra that occurs between the Kenyan Mara and the Serengeti. Varied bird species can be seen here including eagles, ducks, geese, egrets, vultures, secretary birds, ibis, stork, herons, kites, pelicans, cranes and guinea fowl. The Serengeti National park is an arguably the best known wildlife sanctuary in the world with over 3 million large mammals. About 35 species of plains animals can be seen there including the 鈥渂ig 5鈥 - Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Leopard and Buffalo. Other common species found here includes hippo, giraffe, eland, impala and other antelope types, baboons, monkey and a profusion of over 500 species of birds. In May or early June, huge herds of wildebeest, gazelle and zebra begin their annual spectacular migration northwards. In their wake follow predators, lion, cheetah and wild dogs with vultures circling overhead! Come back for dinner and overnight.
Optional
If you like to watch wildlife from another perspective, we recommend you to go on a balloon safari. It is an amazing experience to drift silently above the plains with herds of wildlife.
The hot-air balloon gently takes you up in the air and floats wherever the morning winds may take you. During the ride you have a stunning and far-reaching view of the great plains of the Serengeti. From here you can spot big herds of wildebeest, giraffes and prides of lion鈥檚 right below you. At the right time of year and with a good amount of luck you might even be able to experience the great migration from above.

The 5-hour game drive on the crater floor will show you a lot of animal action. Keeping the camera ready is definitely recommended.
