Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Delhi

    Morning on arrival in Delhi International Airport, you will be welcomed by IDMS’s staff and transferred to your hotel in Delhi. (Your check in time at the Hotel is 1200 hrs)
    New Delhi, the capital and the third largest city of India is a fusion of the ancient and the modern. Standing along the West End of Gangetic Plain, the capital city, Delhi, unwinds a picture rich with culture, architecture and human diversity, deep in history, monuments, museums, galleries, gardens and exotic shows. Comprising of two contrasting yet harmonious parts, the Old Delhi and New Delhi, the city is a travel hub of Northern India. Narrating the city’s Mughal past, Old Delhi, takes you through the labyrinthine streets passing through formidable mosques, monuments and forts. The imperial city of New Delhi displays the finely curved architecture of British Raj.

    Visit the 7th city of Delhi, Shahjahanabad (Old Delhi), built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan (1639-48 AD) after he shifted his capital from Agra to Delhi.

    Drive past Red Fort – the 17th century imposing fortress built in red sandstone is surrounded by a huge boundary wall 33m high. Inside are exquisite palaces and beautiful gardens.

    Opposite the Red Fort lies Jama Masjid (Friday Mosque) made of red sandstone and white marble, completed in 1656. It is India’s largest mosque where more than 20.000 people can kneel in prayer. Spend some time in Chandi Chowk to savor the ambience of an oriental, crowded bazaar.

    Visit Raj Ghat on the banks of the river Yamuna, Mahatma Gandhi’s Memorial, where he was cremated following his assassination in January 1948. An eternal flame burns 24 hours.

    Drive past Janpath, Rashtrapati Bhawan (Hindi for presidential palace) and India Gate is perhaps one of the most impressive structures built in the capital of India. This historic monument was built as a memorial to commemorate the 70,000 Indian soldiers killed in the First World War.

  • Day 2 : Delhi-Guwahati(260 Kms / 5 hrs)

    Morning breakfast in the Hotel.
    Later we assist you and transfer to Airport to board your flight for Guwahati.

    Situated on the bank of the mighty river Brahmaputra, Guwahati is said to be the City of Eastern Light - is the gateway to north eastern India. The name is a combination of two words: Guwa meaning areca nut and Hat meaning market. Guwahati is the commercial nerve centre of the North-East

    On arrival Guwahati, we assist you and transfer to your Hotel.

    Evening visit 'Kalakshetra', a place where Assamese history and culture is depicted in a sprawling enclosure.

  • Day 3 : Guwahati – Itanagar (381 Kms/7 hrs)

    Morning breakfast in the Hotel.
    Later we drive to Itanagar.

    Itanagar is the capital of the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Itanagar is situated at the foothills of Himalayas. It comes administratively under Papum Pare district.

    On arrival Itanagar, we check-in at your hotel.

  • Day 4 : Itanagar- Ziro(150 kms/5 hrs)

    Morning breakfast in the Hotel.
    Later we visit Itafort - speaks about its illustrious past, dating back to the 14-15 centuries.

    Thereafter we proceed on drive for Ziro enroute visiting NISHI TRIBES. On arrival in Ziro, check-in at your hotel.
    "Ziro is a small picturesque and beautiful destination filled with Pine and Bamboo groves, villages, a craft centre and Tarin Fish Farm. At Ziro we would also be able to see the indigenous method of rice cultivation"

  • Day 5 : Ziro

    Morning breakfast in the Hotel.
    Later we have full day excursion to Apatani villages we visit the Hong, Dutta, Bulla etc.
    Also we visit craft emporium and museum.

  • Day 6 : Ziro-Along (190 kms/6 hrs)

    Morning breakfast in the Hotel.
    Later we drive to Along.

    Along the headquarter of west Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh located at an altitude of 300m inhabitants of Adi (Gallong) tribes

    On the way we visit Daporijo, the land of Tagin Tribe.

    Daporijo, alternately Daporizo, is a charming town on the right bank of river Subansiri. Along is 160 km east, while Itanagar - the state capital – is 423 km towards south-west.

    Later we proceed to visit the Meghna Cave Temple – dedicated to Lord Shiva, some distance before Daporijo.

    On arrival Along, we check in at the Hotel.

  • Day 7 : Along

    Morning breakfast in the Hotel.
    Later we proceed to visit the tribal villages . The main tribe of this area is ADI GALLONG - The Adis are quite a number of tribal groups, scattered over the Siang districts and the Lower dibang valley district of Arunachal. One of the most striking features of the Adi society is its highly organised political institution represented by the kebang
    Rest of the day visit local market and museum.

  • Day 8 : Along-Pasighat (120 kms/4 hrs)

    Morning breakfast in the Hotel.
    Later we drive to Pasighat.

    Welcome to Pasighat, the oldest town of Arunachal Pradesh. The town was established in 1911 by the British. Pasighat is situated on the banks of the river Siang and is at a height of 152 m. from the sea level. It's population is almost 23,000.
    On the way we visit the Adi Minyong Tribel Village.

  • Day 9 : Pasighat –Dibrugarh (120 kms/4 hrs with 02 hrs ferry ride)

    Morning breakfast in the Hotel.
    Later we drive for Dibrugarh,

    Located in the upper northeast corner of India, Dibrugarh is well connected with the rest of India. There is also no requirement of any kind of permit to travel in Assam. Dibrugarh is famous for Tea. It has the world’s largest area covered by tea gardens.

    Along the way we will cross the mighty Brahmaputra River by ferry which takes about 6 hrs. The river Brahamaputra is the confluence of the Siang and Lohit river of Arunachal Pradesh.The ferry service Pasighat to Dibrugarh is a lifeline for this tribe.

  • Day 10 : Dibrugarh –Mon (170 Kms/6 hrs)

    Later we drive by surface to Mon.

    Mon - the land of Koniyak Nagas, one of the great warriors among Nagas. Afternoon go for a walk through the Mon Market.

  • Day 11 : Mon

    Morning breakfast in the Hotel
    Today is your full day visit of Mon.

    After breakfast drive to Shangnyu village, this village is ruled by the Chief Angh is a prominent village in Mon district. There is a wonderful wooden monument measuring 8 feet in height and 12 feet in breadth- believed to be constructed by heavenly angels. Human beings and other creatures are carved on this monument. Memorial stones are also found in front of the Angh's Palace. History records that good and friendly relationship existed between the Shangnyu and the Ahom Kings of Assam. Shangnyu Angh use to collect taxes from all the villages under his domain extending from Sibsagar in Assam to the Wanchos in Arunachal. After returning from Shangnyu village visit Mon Village, here also you will find tattooed Konyaks. Post lunch drive to Chui village situated about 8kms from the district headquarters of Mon.

    After lunch drive to Langmeing to see head hunting trophies. On way back to Mon visit Chui village still retains its old world charm. One can see the Angh's mansion and other houses constructed in the true Konyak tradition with palm leaves roofing and the main pillars jutting out.

  • Day 12 : Mon-Mokokchung (220 kms/7 hrs)

    Morning breakfast in the Hotel.
    Later we drive by surface to Mokokchung.

    Mokokchung, this picturesque town is the cultural center of the Ao tribes. The Ao Nagas is famous for their colorful dances. Evening visit Ungma village, the biggest Ao village and looks like an adjunct of Mokokchung town. According to legend, the early Aos settled here first after coming from Chungliyimti. This village is many centuries old and can be of interest to people who have a desire to peep into Ao folklories, customs and traditions. Overnight at Mokokchung or Mopunchyukit village guesthouse (20 kms away from Mokokchung)

  • Day 13 : Mokokchung –Kohima (207 kms/6 hrs)

    Morning breakfast in the lodge.
    Later we drive to Kohima.

    On the way we visit Tuophema village. We are in the land of Angami Nagas - great warriors among Nagas. We walk through this beautiful Angami Village, local Angami guide will explain us all about the stories of Angami tribes.

    Thereafter we proceed onward to visit rich Kohima museum and War Memorial, Kyisema village.

  • Day 15 : Kohima-Kaziranga National Park (220 Kms/7 hrs)

    Later we drive to Kaziranga National Park.

    Kaziranga National Park "Worlds Heritage Site, Kaziranga is a title of a remarkable success story of conservation of the One Horned India Rhinoceros and other wild lives in the North East India. It is not only the homeland of the Great Indian One Horned Rhinoceros, but also provides shelter to a variety of wild lives. It is one of the significant natural habitats for in situ conservation of biological biodiversity of universal value. The values and criteria made Kaziranga National Park to get inscribed in the World Heritage Site List 1985. The Kaziranga National Park area consists of 429.93 Sq.Km. .Due to limitless poaching of this prehistoric survivor, the Kaziranga National Park was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1940".
