Trekking in Bhutan offers a unique taste and experience passing through breathtakingly beautiful landscapes. Most of the trekking routes run through rural settlements, lush temperate forests home for some endangered species of flora and fauna and extend to the snowcapped mountains of the Himalayas. Cascades of waterfall joining the major river system in the country are attractions for trekkers along the trekking trails. Trekking provides an excellent opportunity to explore the greater part of Bhutan 鈥� rural hamlets in the valleys to nomadic yak herders in the high mountains.
Our treks stretch from short soothing walks through terraced fields in the countryside to some of the arduous high altitude treks. Walking through the coniferous forests of rhododendrons at 3100m of twelve-days Druk Path Trek and taking the trails of twenty-seven (27) - day Snowmen Trek in the alpine region crossing several passes at more than 6000m give unique opportunity for all trekkers. Strenuous walks of seven to nine hours along rocky and muddy (particularly in summer) are rewarded with vistas of picturesque peaks and valleys under clear blue sky.
Weather is an important consideration for the trek. Limited by winter snows and summer rains, spring and autumn are Bhutan鈥檚 peak seasons for trekking. Spring is warmer with fresh environment marked by blossoming flowers of varied species of flora 鈥� rhododendrons in full blossom. Late spring may see rain. Summer is not an ideal time for trekking in Bhutan for monsoon is at its height. However, it is the best time to savour the beauty of alpine flowers. Clear autumn days present spectacular views of scenic valleys of Bhutan. You will come across rural folk in their fields harvesting their crops in October and November. During winter, treks in the alpine region are not accessible of snow. Nonetheless, treks in the valleys of Paro, Punakha and Wangduephodrang ensure pleasant walk with settled weather under a clear sky.
All trekking in Bhutan is being arranged as camping trips. Designated trekking camp will have adequate water supply as well as meadows to feed ponies. On your trek you will be accompanied by a small and efficient trekking team. Apart from overseeing all camping arrangements, the team will guide you and prepare the meals throughout the trek. We provide tents with foam mattresses, eating utensils, dining and toilet tents. Everything related to transportation is done by pack animals - horses in the low lands and yaks at higher elevations. There are no tea houses or lodges along the trekking routes.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Paro

  On Board to Paro By Air Presents a Spectacular View of Himalayan Mountains Including Mt. Everest and Sacred Mountains of Bhutan in Jomolhari and Jichu Drake. At the Airport, the Representative 鈥渁 Path to Himalayan Country Bhutan Tours and Treks鈥� Will Be There to Receive and Take You to the Hotel. in the Afternoon, You Can Visit Paro Dzong. Built in 1646, the Dzong Today Serve as An Administrative Centre for Paro District. Later, You Will Visit Kyichu Lhakhang, One of the Oldest Temples in the Country Built in the 7th Century. Spend the Night in the Hotel in Paro.
• Day 2 : Hike to Taktshang Monastery

  After Breakfast, Hike to Taktshang (tigers Nest) At the Height of 2900m for It Will Acclimatize You for the Next Day鈥檚 Trek. the 8th Century Buddhist Master, Guru Rinpochhe is Said to have Flown Here from Khengpajong in Lhuntse to Meditate. It is Perched On the Edge of a Vertical Cliff At the Elevation of 900m from Valley Floor. Explore the Monastery and Enjoy the Beauty It Offers. Descend Back to Paro After Lunch At Taktshang Cafeteria. Towards Evening You Can Drive 25 Km to the Starting Point of Trek.
• Day 3 : Shana- Sio Thangkha (20 km, 7-8 hours) Trek starts

  The Trek Follows Pa Chhu, Climbing and Descending Through Pine, Oak and Spruce Forests. After Crossing the Bridge, the Team Stops for Hot Lunch. After Lunch, We Climb Along the Bank of the River Through the Rhododendron Forest. We Cross the River Again and that Will Take Us to the Campsite At 3, 750m.
• Day 4 : Sio Thangkha- Jangothang (19 km, 6-7 hours)

  The Trail Involves Gentle Climbs Before You Reach the Army Camp. Following the River Above the Tree Line, the Trek Presents Stunning View of Surrounding Peaks. for Lunch, We Stop At Yak Herder鈥檚 Camp. a Short Walk Into the Valley Will Reach You At Jangothang At 4, 040m. We Pitch Base Camp Here. the View of Mt. Jomolhari and Jichu Drake are Splendid.
• Day 5 : Jangothang (base Camp)

  To acclimatize for following day鈥檚 highest climb on this trek, we rest and explore the nearby areas. Mountains and lakes offer exciting sites to explore.
• Day 6 : Jangothang 鈥搇ingshi (18 Km, 7-8 Hours)

  Following the Stream for Half An Hour, We Cross the Bridge to Right. Start the Climb Up to the First Ridge, from Where You Can have a Breathtaking View of Jhomolhari, Jichu Drake and Tshering Gang. Continue Towards the Valley, Almost Flat for a While, Until the Climb to the Ngye La Pass Begins At An Altitude of 4,700m. Conquering the Pass, the Trail is a Gradual Descend to Lingshi Camp, Relishing the Panoramic View of the Peaks and Lingshi Dzong. Camp At An Elevation of 4000m!
• Day 7 : Lingshi- Shodu (22 km, 8-9 hours)

  The Laya - Gasa route leaves the Jhomolhari trek here. The trail climbs upward to a small Chorten on a ridge above the camp, turns south and continues up the deep Mo Chhu valley. The trail passes through the treeless valley, climbing steadily a short distance above Mo Chhu. It then crosses the river, and climbs steeply for two hours to Yeli La pass at 4,820m. From the pass, on a clear day, you can see Jhomolhari, Gangchen Ta, Tshering Gang and Masang Gang. Descend alongside a stream to a shelter, and then further downstream to a camp at Shodu at 4,100m, alongside meadow with a Chorten.
• Day 8 : Shodu-Barshong (16 km, 6-7 hours)

  The route enters back to tree line. Following Wangchhu, Thimphu River, and trail descends through the forests of rhododendrons, juniper and alpine vegetation. Passing through ridge, cascades of waterfall presents a breathtaking view. Hot lunch will be served by the river bank. After lunch, the route takes to the ruins of Barshong Dzong, reaching the camp at the height of 3, 600m.
• Day 9 : Barshong- Dolam Kencho (15 km, 5-6 hours) Trek ends

  Gently descending through dense forests of rhododendrons, birch and confers, the trail drops steeply to meet Thimphu River. The trail continues from the left bank of the river, climbing over ridges and descending to the side of the streams. Crossing the steep cliff, you reach Dolam Kencho at 3, 600m
  Continuing along the banks of the river, the southward route connects road head at Dodena at 2, 600m. Here, you will be picked by All Bhutan transport to drive to Thimphu. Overnight hotel in Thimphu!
• Day 10 : Thimphu Sightseeing

  Start your capital tour with the visit to Memorial Chorten built in memory of the Third Druk Gyalpo. See the Takin, the national animal at its enclosure. Make a visit to Trashichhodzong, the Throne Room, and seat of the Chief Abbot and the summer residence of the Central Monastic Body. Explore the Heritage and Textile Museum and Traditional Paper making factory. 5 km towards the east from the town will take you to the Simtokha Dzong, the oldest Dzong in the Country built in 1629. Towards evening drive to Paro which around one hour drive. Overnight hotel in Paro!
• Day 11 : Thimphu to Punakha Day excursion

  A drive for two and half hours will reach you to Punakha, the former capital of the country at 1, 300m. On the way, we will stop for a while for Dochula Pass affords scenic view of the Himalayas aside it鈥檚 108 chortens built by Royal Mother Ashi Droji Wangmo Wanchuck to commemorate victory over Indian militants in 2003 and pay tribute to soldiers who lost lives. Upon reaching Punakha, visit the Dzong built in 1637 at the confluence of Mochhu and Phochhu. The fort symbolizes the master piece and uniqueness of Bhutanese architecture. Afterwe have done at Punakha, we will drive back to Thimphu for overnight.
• Day 12 : Thimphu - Paro (Departure)

  After early breakfast, we will drive you to Paro airport along the bank of Thimphu River; pass by confluence and along the Pachhu. Our representative will bid goodbye to you at the Airport from Bhutan!
