Like to spend time between mountains, Triund is a green alpine meadow at an elevation of 2828 meters and is a popular camping site. This is a ridge just beneath the mighty Ice capped Dhauladhar Range and we get to see the panoramic view of the Bhagsu village, Mcleodganj, the Dharamsala valley on one side, distant views of Shivalik hills and the plains of Kangra valley on the other side and gaze at the Milky Way during the night.
Triund Trek is undoubtedly one of the most sought treks and is accessible throughout the year, except during January and February when heavy snowfall cut off some sections of the trekking route. The base of this trek is Mcleodganj, also known as Little Lhasa and the trek distance is about of 9 km alternatively you can drive to Galu Devi Temple which is about 5 km drive from Mcloedganj. The 6 Km trail from Galu is a gradual ascent through beautiful forest of oak, rhododendron, and deodar. The terrain further heads to Inderhara Pass and gets more elevated with steep ascent.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Mcloedganj to Galu Devi temple – Trek to Triund

  The trek starts with early morning from Mcloedganj or a drive from Mcloedganj to Galu Devi Temple, on arrival at Galu visit the temple before you embark on the 6 kms trek upwards to Triund which stands at height of 2828 meters and npasses through Dharamkot enroute we halt for a tea break at Magic View. On reaching Triund we pitch our tents and its time to enjoy the evening and beautiful sunset over the Himalayas.

  It is time to rise early to get an amazing sunrise experience, walk through a quaint patch of wilderness in the meadow, and visit the temple at Triund and later head start to descend down to Mcloedganj via Magic View, Galu Devi Temple and Dharamkot.
