Sarova Mara Game Camp offers front seats to nature鈥檚 most breathtaking show - the wildebeest migration. The endless plains of East Africa are the setting for the world鈥檚 greatest wildlife spectacle where, from the vast Serengeti plains to the champagne coloured hills of Kenya鈥檚 Maasai Mara, over 1.4 million wildebeest and 200,000 zebra and gazelle, relentlessly tracked by Africa鈥檚 great predators, migrate in a clockwise fashion over 1,800 miles each year in search of rain ripened grass. Sarova Mara Game Camp is well positioned to enjoy this unique phenomenon. The rolling plains around the Camp are teeming with wildebeest, gazelles and zebras during the migration months, and the Camp is situated right in the center of their migration path. A wildlife safari puts you right in the middle of all this action. Get a first-hand account of this epic phenomenon and live to tell the tale. A safari also helps you acquaint yourself with the landscapes of this beautiful African setting. Sarova Mara Game Camp is also the ideal choice for those seeking a richer experience of the Maasai Mara that goes much beyond just game drives. By virtue of its location and layout, the Camp offers an unparalleled plethora of activities and experiences from luxury tented living to bird-watching, mini golf, sport fishing and a unique insight into the Maasai culture at the adjoining Maasai village.

With Sopa鈥檚 traditional and conscientious care for the environment, we carefully positioned all the buildings on our property so we did not have to fell any of the many trees there. As a result of this, we had to come up with a radically innovative and artistic design for the main public area building which now snakes its way between the trees with long and graceful curves. It is also why you might well ask just why our two swimming pools with a children鈥檚 section and a pool complex with its bar, snack kitchen, pizzeria and health spa; our tennis court; our two conference halls with their four differently sized meeting areas, and our stables are so widely set apart.

It was this region of Kenya that, in the 1930鈥檚, inspired Ernest Hemingway鈥檚 unforgettable stories 鈥楾he Snows of Kilimanjaro鈥 and 鈥楾he Short, Happy Life of Francis Macomber鈥 which were turned into more than successful feature films in the late 1940鈥檚 due to their renowned actors. All forms of wildlife still abound in this wilderness which continues all the way to the Amboseli National Park, an easy twenty minute drive away from the lodge. While the park conserves over six hundred breeding species of birds as well a host of rare and wonderful wildlife, this is also home to the Maasai people, perhaps the world鈥檚 most renowned African tribe.

Facility : 24-hour room service Bar lounge Laundry Live entertainment Lobby Parking available RestaurantOriginally from Australia Ralph, May and their son Ben have always dreamed of opening a lodge and in 2013, sixteen years after their move to Kenya, they have achieved their dream and personally created Ziwa Bush Lodge. Ralph and May arrived in Kenya in 1997 with not much more than two suitcases, their two children and a desire to help others. Sixteen years later they are the owners of EAMO children鈥檚 home which homes more than 250 children and is located on the same vast amount of land with just a minute walk from Ziwa Bush Lodge. Thousands have been to visit EAMO over the years, camped on the grounds and have thoroughly enjoyed meeting and spending time with these children in the midst of their home, nursery, primary and secondary school. Ziwa Bush Lodge is perfectly situated in the naturally beautiful surroundings of Nakuru, Kenya. Assembled in amongst the African trees, Ralph, Ben and May worked to ensure the lodge would not disrupt the environment. It offers a luxurious place to stay far enough away from the 鈥渂usyness of the children鈥檚 home鈥 in a very neat, traditionally built lodge situated on the edge of a pond where trees are in abundance as well as the bird life. The dining at Ziwa Bush Lodge offers a comfortable seating area where you may sip on a cool drink alongside the upper level of fine dining where you may place your order from a carefully prepared menu tailored to suit all tastes. The dining also offers you an outdoor dining where you may enjoy your cuisine overhanging the magnificent waters. Before or after dinner you may take a short stroll up to see EAMO鈥檚 remarkable children and even tuck them in to their beds if you please. Or you may wish to simply sit back and relax in the lounge area of the dining or the privacy of your own room and enjoy everything Ziwa Bush Lodge has to offer. Airport pickups can be arranged along with game drives to all of the parks within Kenya and beyond. So come and stay with us, you will simply love it, because there is no other place in Kenya like Ziwa Bush Lodge.

Our opinion
This wonderful 5* resort offers excellent value for money when compared with other similar hotels in Zanzibar. From the moment you arrive your senses are stimulated by flowing purple fabrics, traditional Zanzibari wooden carvings and warm hospitality. All the rooms are of an excellent standard: cool and beautifully decorated with massive beds and lovely textural fabrics. There is also plenty to do for the more active and adventurous, with a very good water sports centre onsite offering everything from snorkelling and diving, to kite surfing and windsurfing, and even glass bottomed kayaks to drift over the lagoon admiring the fish and coral beneath you!
Meal times in the evening are also a very pleasant experience, often accompanied by a local Taarab band or saxophone player, and the food on offer varies every night. There are also a variety of places to relax after your meal, again all beautifully decorated with fabrics and soft lighting. This makes Breezes an ideal choice both for families and for couples looking for romance and privacy.
