In this 1 week tour to Tibet-Lhasa we will be visiting many monasteries and places. It is the capital city of Tibet carrying its own fame and mystique with the most famous attraction being the Potala Palace, which is the residency of the Dalai Lama. King Songsten Gombo constructed it in the 7th century.
To reach Lhasa you will have to take an hour long flight Kathmandu. This flight will offer you the most spectacular mountain views of the beautiful mountain ranges. From here your 7 day tour will commence.

Day 1 : Kathmandu to Lhasa
After you arrive at the Lhasa airport, our representative will greet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. You may be able view the Yarlung Tsangpo River / Bhamaputra River (the Longest and largest river in Tibet) and Lhasa River on their way to Lhasa.
After arriving in Lhasa, take rest so that you can get adjusted to high altitude. If you feel to go out, then you can go to the Potala Square, where you will enjoy the fountain with different colors and get amazing photos of the Potala and around.
Insider Tips:
For the new-comers of Tibet, to get acclimatized to the high altitude in Tibet having a good sleep in your hotel is a good option. Do not rush to visit attractions inside Lhasa city.
Day 2 : Lhasa
After breakfast at the hotel, our first destination will be Potala palace which is now the residence of Dalai Lama. The most valuable collections of Potala Palace are the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and meditation Cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet.
Then after lunch, we will head to Jokhang temple which was founded by the 33rd great king of Tibet in the 7th century. Inside the temple you will see the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve. Outside you will see pilgrims making prostrating in front of Jokhang Temple. After exploring Jokhang Temple, you can take a walk around Barkhor Street which is the one of the most devotional circuit as well as crowded central market of Lhasa since the early days. It used to be the most famous local market but now it is changed to tourist gift shopping centre. Overnight at Lhasa
Day 3 : Lhasa
On day 2nd of our Lhasa we will be visiting two big monasteries in Tibet i.e. Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. In the morning, after breakfast we will visit Drepung Monastery; once the world's largest monastery that housed for more than 10,000 monks. It was resident of the Dalai Lama prior to Potala Palace. Inside the monastery walking through numbers of narrow and twisted lane through the monks鈥 apartments is more like a typical village.
Then, we will visit Sera Monastery. It was built in the fifteenth century by the Jamchen choji Sakya Yeshi who is disciple of Tsongka pa. There are few different monastic colleges in Sera which is home to several hundred monks from different part of Tibet. Overnight at Lhasa
Day 4 : Lhasa to Ganden to Lhasa
Today, we will be visitng Ganden monastery which is located 40 km away from Lhasa in Ganden. Ganden Monastery was founded by Je Tsongkhapa Lozang-dragpa in 1409. After exploring Ganden monastery, we will drive back to Lhasa to stay overnight.
Day 5 : Lhasa to Shigatse via Gyantse
We will drive through Gyantse to reach Shigatse. On the way, we will visit massive hilltop military fort called the Gyantse Dzong dominates the skyline. It is one of the best preserved 鈥渄zong鈥 (fortress) remaining in Tibet. Tibet. You can purchase an entry ticket and explore the old fort on your own. The other main attraction in Gyantse is the 35 meter high Gyantse Kumbum Stupa. This stupa, one of the highest and largest in Tibet, is found on the grounds of the Pelkor Monastery. Day 6 : Shigatse to Lhasa
Today we will be exploring Tashi Lhunpo Monastery located in Shigatse which is the second largest city in Tibet. The monastery is the traditional seat of successive Panchen Lamas, the second highest ranking tulku lineage in the Gelug tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. After roaming for awhile, we will drive back to Lhasa to stay overnight.
Day 7 : Departure
Our representative will transfer you to the airport approximately 3 hrs before your flight.
