Package Overview

Our tour is an interesting experience into culturally enchanting and verdant landscapes and charms of tropical South India. We explore ancient Hindu temples and lavish palaces; enjoy picturesque hill walks; see exotic wildlife in its natural habitat; and relax on a houseboat while cruising through the famous Kerala backwaters.

We begin from the modern metropolis of Bangalore, India’s technology hub, before heading west to Mysore, one of the most attractive old cities in the country. We marvel at the opulence of the Maharaja’s Palace - a highlight of an enjoyable day’s sightseeing.

From here it’s up into the verdant heights of the Western Ghats, taking in the national parks of Nagarhole and adjoining Bandipur and Madumalai – which together form the largest protected wildlife area in southern India. During a series of game drives we seek out wild elephants, tigers, sloth bears and a variety of deer and primate species.
From Bandipur we spend a day walking and sightseeing in the picturesque hill station of Ooty – with a ride on the so-called ‘toy train’ through the hills – before crossing the state-line on our way to Munnar in Kerala. Next, we visit breathtakingly beautiful wildlife sanctuaries at Eravikulam and Periyar and also take a boat-ride on the spectacular Periyar Lake to watch its colourful birdlife.The final stage of this cultural and natural exploration of South India sees us descend to the lush Kerala coast to spend a night on a houseboat on a tour of the famous Kerala backwaters in Alleppey. We finish our tour in the romantic old spice town of Cochin, a trading post on the Arabian Sea since Roman times.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Bangalore

  Upon arrival in Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka and officially known as Bengaluru, transfer to the hotel for check-in. Rest of the day free. Overnight Hotel
• Day 2 : Mysore

  Drive to Mysore and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon sightseeing includes visits to Srirangapatna, Palace of the Maharaja (Emperor), Chaumundi Hill and giant stone Nandi bull. Overnight Hotel

• Day 3 : Nagarhole

  In the morning drive to Nagarhole National Park, located in Kodagu district of Karnataka; stopping off at Tashi Lhumpo monastery and Tibetan settlement en route. Overnight Hotel

• Day 4 : Nagarhole

  Today in the morning enjoy a game drive into the Nagarhole National Park that is famous for the tawny, black-striped Royal Bengal Tiger, elusive and stealthy, noble and regal. Evening is free to wander around to experience local life. Overnight Hotel

  After breakfast drive to Bandipur. In the afternoon enjoy a safari trip into the Bandipur National Park, one of the many reserves located within the forest belt between the Western Ghats and the Nilgiri Mountains. Overnight Hotel

• Day 6 : Ooty

  Today drive to Ooty (Ootacamund). Upon arrival check into the hotel and spend time enjoying the beauty of this hill station. Rest of the day free to explore this serene and green township. Overnight Hotel

  In the local sightseeing programme take the morning toy train journey to Coonoor and back. In the afternoon visit the botanical garden and walk to Doddabetta peak, the highest point in the district. Overnight Hotel

• Day 8 : Munnar

  Today drive through the hills to Munnar, another hill station that is surrounded by wild jungles and tea plantation. Arrive here in the afternoon and check into hotel. Overnight Hotel
• Day 9 : Munnar

  In the sightseeing programme visit Eravikulam National Park - home of the Nilgiri Tahr – the only mountain goat found south of the Himalayas. However, there are many other species of animal and bird life. Overnight Hotel
• Day 10 : Periyar

  In the morning drive through beautiful and lush countryside across the top of the hills to Thekkady, a small town close to Periyar National Park of India’s most fascinating wildlife sanctuaries. In the afternoon check into hotel and visit the spice garden. Overnight Hotel
• Day 11 : Alleppey

  This morning there is for a jungle walk in Periyar National Park to admire its abundant bird life in addition to the animals, including elephants. Later drive to Alleppey to board houseboat for backwaters cruise. Overnight Houseboat
• Day 12 : Cochin

  This morning after finishing breakfast on the boat, drive to Kochi, a city founded by the Portuguese in 1503 and believed to be the earliest European settlement in India. Rest of the day free. Overnight Hotel

  • Meals & Drinks breakfast
• Day 13 : Cochin

  In the Kochi sightseeing programme visit Mattancherry Palace, the Jewish Synagogue, St Francis Church and the Chinese fishing nets at Fort Cochin. Afternoon is free to explore the town. Overnight Hotel
• Day 14 : Cochin

  Today, after check out from the hotel, transfer to the international airport of Kochi to board flights to respective destinations.
