On arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus (Junction) / Siliguri - Guest will be received by our executive & assisted to board the vehicle to proceed for Phuntsholing - The drive is of 165 kilometers i.e. 4 to 4 陆 hour鈥檚 drive through the lush green Tea Estate of Duars - On arrival at Phuntsholing - Check into hotel - The border of India & Bhutan, the Indian side is known as Jaigaon and the Bhutan part is called Phuntsholing - Situated at an altitude of nearly 980 feet is a small settlement - Night stay at Hotel at either Phuntsholing or Jaigaon
(2350 meters / 7710 feet) - The drive is 172 kilometers and is 6 陆 - 7 hours drive - Early morning breakfast - Obtain permit with assistance from our representative - Proceed for Thimpu - The drive is beautiful, and one can see some waterfalls along the way - Thimpu is a charming city, probably the smallest capital in the world, resting in the heart of the Himalayas - The skyline hardly changes as new buildings are all constructed in traditional Bhutanese style - It is situated in the western central part of Bhutan - It is a lively place, interesting combination of tradition and modernity - Thimpu is situated at an elevation of 2350 meters 7710 feet - Reach Thimpu - Check into your hotel on arrival - Overnight stay at hotel in Thimphu
After breakfast, sightseeing in Thimphu valley including visit the National Library - the Institute for Zorig Chusum, commonly known as the Painting School - Textile and Folk Heritage Museum - After lunch visit King's Memorial Chorten continuously circumambulated by people, murmuring mantras and spinning their prayer wheels - visit the government-run Handicrafts Emporium and local crafts shops - Evening drive past Trashichhoedzong, "fortress of the glorious religion"- Evening free to stroll around the area - Overnight at the hotel in Thimphu.
( 75 Kilometers, 3 hours drive ) - Early morning breakfast, drive up to Dochu-la pass (3088 meters / 10130 feet) stopping briefly here to take in the view and admire the chorten, mani wall, and prayer flags which decorate the highest point on the road. If skies are clear, the following peaks can be seen from this pass (left to right): Masagang (7158 m), Tsendagang (6960 m), Terigang (7060 m), Jejegangphugang (7158 m), Kangphugang (7170 m), Zongphugang (7060 m), a table mountain that dominates the isolated region of Lunana - finally Gangkar puensum, the highest peak in Bhutan at 7497 m - Reach Punakha - Visit to Punakha Dzong, built strategically at the junction of Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers in 1637 - Overnight at the hotel in Punakha
(125 Kilometers, 4 hours drive) - Early morning breakfast - Next visit Ta Dzong, once a watchtower, built to defend Rinpung Dzong during inter-valley wars of the 17th century - Next walk down a hillside trail to visit Rinpung Dzong - Built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal - It is the office of the Dzongda (district administrative head) and Thrimpon (judge) of Paro district - Check into hotel at Paro - Evening free to stroll around the area - Overnight at the hotel in Paro
(3988 METERS / 13084 FEET) Chele la (Pass) is situated at an elevation 3988 meters is considered to be one of the highest motor able passes in Bhutan - It is nearly 35 kilometers and about an hour later from Paro - About an hour's drive along a thickly - forested road is a botanical paradise - The pass provides stunning views of the sacred mountain Jomolhari and Jichu Drake - Made all the more mysterious and beautiful with its abundance of prayer flags - Guest can witness the cascades of wild roses; purple and yellow primulas; and swathes of deep blue iris covering the forest floor - Back to resort - Guest may spend the day by shopping or simply walking through the town or relax - Overnight stay in hotel / resort in Paro
(179 KILOMETERS, 6 - 7 HOURS) After breakfast, drive to Phuntsholing en route - Thimpu / Phuntsholing road was built in 1962 by Dantak, the Indian Border road organization - The drive on this route is very pleasant with numerous scenic spots en route - Just before, arriving Phuntsholing, visit Kharbandi Goemba, the monastery built in 1967 - It houses the large and attractive statues of Sakyamuni, Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal and Guru Rinpoche - Arrive Phuntsholing - Evening free to stroll around the area - Check into Hotel - Overnight at the hotel in Phuntsholing
