We go to the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square, the holy Pashupatinath Hindu temple, the well-known Swayambhunath "Monkey Temple," and the Buddhist shrine Bouddhanath, which is also one of the biggest stupas in the world. Our journey begins at daybreak, and we depart from Kathmandu after having breakfast around 7 am in the morning. The drive to Jagat via Besishahar is long and takes around 8-10 hours, during which we will be able to enjoy the picturesque views of the Nepali countryside, including lush greenery, rivers, villages, farms, and mountain vistas. The drive up to Besishahar is usually smooth due to the black-topped roads, but after Besishahar, the roads become dusty and rough. However, the scenic view from our windowpane more than makes up for the bumpy ride. We will spend the night in Jagat.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Driving Duration: 8 to 9 hours

  • Day 4 : Jagat to Dharapani 1960m/6431ft

As we ascend further, we will come across a sharp-edged cliff facing the riverbank, with the glorious backdrop of towering Annapurna Mountain ranges visible in the distance, including the village of Chyamje. We will cross a suspension bridge and then face a physically challenging and slippery path to Sattale. Treading along a succession of rock-strewn trails, we will descend to a grassy riverbank that leads to Tal. As we move away from Tal, the path becomes rugged and winding. Today is a rest day dedicated to acclimatization in the Lost/Hidden Valley. We can take this opportunity to explore the local culture, natural diversity, and religious practices of the Lama, Gurung, and Ghale ethnic groups residing here. We can observe how people survive in such a remote location by relying on agriculture, animal breeding, and seasonal migrations. Additionally, we can visit the Tashi Lakhang Monastery, which is listed as one of the 108 world's great Buddhist monasteries and is believed to be the last monastery built by Karmapa Rinpoche. Apart from cultural exploration, the valley also offers stunning views of Himlung Himal and other snow-capped peaks in the region. We will spend the night in Phu Gaon.
