Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Antananarivo

  Upon arrival in Antananarivo, Madagascar鈥檚 capital, you will be met and welcomed by an English speaking guide, before transferring to your hotel in the city center.
• Day 2 : Mandrare River Camp

  After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Ivato airport for your flight to Fort Dauphin (airfare not included), on the south-eastern coast of Madagascar, where you will be met by your guide and drive west towards Antandroy Spiny Forest offering a contrast of landscapes. You will arrive at your luxury tented camp in the late afternoon, where you can enjoy breath-taking views across the Mandrare River.

• Day 3 : Mandrare River Camp

  After breakfast on the banks of the river, we embark on a trip to Antandroy forest where we will see the tombs of the Antandroy ancestors as well as lemurs and many bird species while crossing the river on foot. In the afternoon, you can either just relax at the camp or take part in our activity options such as a trip to the giant sand dunes of Lake Anony or night walks in the forest.

• Day 4 : Mandrare River Camp

  Today will be spent enjoying the various activities located at and around our luxury tented accommodation, tailored to your interests. Some unique and fascinating forest areas in close proximity to the camp can be explored with permission from and being accompanied by one of the local village chiefs.

• Day 5 : Manafiafy

  After our last breakfast by the river, transfer by road to Fort Dauphin, where we then continue onwards through plantations of mango, citrus, pineapples and bananas to the ocean coast and Manafiafy. Situated on a beautiful white sandy bay, fringed with forest covered mountains, your lodge offers barefoot luxury with wildlife and water on your doorstep.

• Day 6 : Manafiafy

  Today you will embark on your choice of a wide range of wildlife and sporting activities which are included in your stay. Some of the options included are, among others, canoeing in the mangroves, early morning boat trips for wetland birding, snorkeling in the bay and nearby cove and visits to the local village and school.

• Day 7 : Manafiafy

  Today you will embark on your choice of a wide range of wildlife and sporting activities which are included in your stay. Some of the options included are, among others, canoeing in the mangroves, early morning boat trips for wetland birding, snorkeling in the bay and nearby cove and visits to the local village and school.

  • Meals & Drinks Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
• Day 8 : Antananarivo

  You will drive back to Fort Dauphin and continue to your Antananarivo accommodation.

  You will drive back to Fort Dauphin and continue to your Antananarivo accommodation.
