Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Delhi 鈥� Srinagar

  You will be met on arrival a Srinagar Airport and will be transferred to Hotel for 02 nights stay.
  Srinagar has a long history, dating back at least to the 3rd century BC, and has been known by different names. The city is said to have been founded by the King Pravarasena II over 2,000 years ago, named it Parvasenpur.The city was then a part of the Maurya Empire, one of the largest empires of the Indian subcontinent. Ashoka introduced Buddhism to the Kashmir valley, and the adjoining regions around the city became a centre of Buddhism In the 1st century, the region was under the control of Kushans, based out of modern Pakistan and Afghanistan. Several rulers of this dynasty strengthened the Buddhist tradition. Vikramaditya (of Ujjain) and his successors probably ruled the regions just before the city fell to the control of the Huns-a nomadic tribe from central Asia in the 6th century, and Mihirkula was the most dreaded ruler of the city and the valley. Srinagar became the capital of Kashmir around 960 CE. Some of the notable independent rulers were Lalit Aditya, Avantivarman who named his city Avantipora and Sangrama Deva.

• Day 2 : Srinagar

  After breakfast go for a half-day sightseeing of Srinagar visiting Shalimar Bagh & Nishat Bagh.
  
  Shalimar garden was built by Mughal Emperor Jehangir in the year 1619 AD聽and called it "Farah Baksh" (the delightful). Eleven years later Zaffer Khan the Governor of Kashmir during Emperor Shah Jahan's reign extended the garden and called it "Faiz Baksh" (the Bountiful). The garden was graded in three sections. The outer garden known as the Diwan-i-Aam, the central porrion the Emperor's garden called as the "Diwan-i颅Khas" and the uppermost by far the best garden was meanc for the Empress and her ladies. The romantic effect of numerous fountains in large tanks and central water channel, cascades, and monumental pavilions, mighty chinars, lush lawns laden with colour and fragrance speak volumes for the taste of Great Mughal. The garden covers an area of 12.40 ha.15 kms from the TRC
  Nishat garden, the聽garden of Delight, the largest Mughal Garden on Dal-Lake was laid out by Asaf Khan, brother of Nur Jahan, wife of Jahangir, in the year 1632 A.D. It is located on Dal-Lake about 2.5 Kilometers to the south of Shalimar and commands a magnificent view in the west and has a panoramic back drop of mountains in the East. The garden had originally 12 terraces. Enchanting central water channel, rippling fountains in large tanks and channels and sparkling cascades amidst bountiful colours, lush lawns and mighty chinars are principal features of this pleasure garden. The garden is spread over an area of about 20 ha. This garden of the royal spring was built in 1642 A.D. by Ali Mardan Khan, the Governor of Kashmir during the reign of Emperor Shah ]ahan. It is a terraced garden situated 9 Km away from Srinagar and about 2 Km up from the main road in a mOllntain side over-looking Dal-Lake. Fountains play in the central water channel starting from the famed spring located in the upper most terrace. It is famous for its pure, sparkling and cool mineral water. To cope up with the ever-increasing tourist traffic the garden has been extended in recent years. It has also been lit recently with multicoloured garden lights. This has proved an added attraction for tourists as well as 10cals.The garden extends over an area of 6.20 ha.聽

• Day 3 : Srinagar 鈥� Pahalgam

  
  After breakfast you will be driven to Pahalgam for 02 nights stay.
  Pahalgam is a popular tourist destination, and every year, many tourists visit Pahalgam. This world famous hill station is 45聽km. from the District Head Quarter at Anantnag and located on the banks of river Lidder at an altitude of 7200聽ft. from sea level. Pahalgam is one among the five tehsils of Anantnag district and tehsil head quarters are located in the main town of Pahalgam. It was once a tourist attraction and a favourite place for shooting of Bollywood films,[2] and is still a health resort. Besides tourist huts, several hotels in private sector have come up here and these hotels provide modern facilities to their guests. A number of treks in this region also begin from Pahalgam, as the 35聽km trail traverses through pinewoods to the spectacular Kolahoi Glacier. Pahalgam is also associated with the annual Amarnath Yatra. Chandanwari (2,895 m), 16聽km from Pahalgam, is the starting point of the yatra that takes place every year in the month of Sawan (July to August). The road from Pahalgam to Chandanwari is on fairly flat terrain and can be undertaken by car. From Chandanwari onwards the track becomes much steeper, and is accessible on foot or by pony. About 11聽km from Chandanwari is the mountain lake of Sheshnag (3,574 m), after which, 13聽km away is the last stop, Panchtarni. The Amarnath cave is 6聽km away from there. During the month of Sawan, an ice stalagmite forms a natural Shivling in the Amarnath cave.

• Day 4 : Pahalgam

  After breakfast day free to enjoy Pahalgam visiting Aru & Chandanwari (on own)
  Aru is a grassland surrounded by a gorge on one side. Aru is a beautiful shaded valley of the Lidder river. Encircling and protecting Aru, are the conifer Spread Mountains with occasional flash of high, snow-covered peaks rising against the blue sky. The one of the most beautiful hill resort of Kashmir is still, serene and idyllic. There are small hamlets of wood-and-stone houses, some of them in the typical Gujjar-shepherd style with flat roofs, squat and backed against the hillside. Following Aru, you will ride to Chandanwari. This scenic destination marks the beginning of the very famous Amarnath trek.

• Day 5 : Pahalgam 鈥� Gulmarg

  After breakfast you set fo scenic drive to Gulmarg for 01 night stay
