Once you reach, be greeted and escorted to the hotel. Register yourself at the hotel reception and get over the jet lag. The day is at your disposal today to delight in just the way you want.
After enjoying the day, come back to the hotel for a relaxing sleep.
Day 2 : THE DIGNIFIED AND SCHOLARLY FEUDAL CAPITAL
Hu岷 is hugely popular with travelers, and for good reasons. The city is packed full of historical elements with plenty of things to do and see, and the food is some of the best Vietnam can offer.
Surviving for 143 years with 14 emperors, the Emperors鈥 tombs and the Imperial City are the most impressive structure in the City.
Visit the most noticeable tombs in Hue 鈥 A huge part of this city鈥檚 history after the pick-up. Start with Khai Dinh tomb - where minarets are shaped like stupas and symbolize the stability and splendor of the old dynasty. In the Honor Courtyard you can view the sculptures of Mandarin soldiers, elephants, and horses standing proud before the Stele Pavilion. The strong stone and tremendous detail which overtakes the entire complex, including the tripartite staircase, creates an ethereal ambiance within the site.
Then visit Minh Mang tomb, the tomb had elements of eastern art mixed with western designs with majesty and symmetry of the architectural constructions. Modeled after Chinese architectural concepts, the emperor鈥檚 tomb sits within a six-square-mile complex constructed in the 19th century. The beauty of the complex is not just in its architectural marvels but also in its tranquility. Walk along the cobblestone paths, over the footbridge that feels almost level with the pond, and then climb the stairs of the double terrace to the entrance of Minh Mang鈥檚 tomb. The opulent attention to detail in the entirety of the complex brings awe along with beauty.
Break for lunch and enjoy must-try dishes that Hue can ever offer.
Continue the trip with a dragon cruise for a short excursion on Perfume river to visit Thien Mu Pagoda or the Pagoda of the Celestial Lady. The concentric hexagonal layers of the Thien Mu Pagoda create one of the oldest religious buildings in Vietnam. The faded red color wraps around the seven stories of hexagonal tiers, each one representing a step to enlightenment. The sanctuary was constructed in the 17th century and when you step through the open pillars and around the modest temple you can see the monks going about their daily tasks of cleaning and stacking wood. The scent of ginger and lemon grass drifts from the monastic buildings.
See the imperial city - Famously being one of Vietnam's seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Here you will find what remains of the elegant former city dating back to the 19th century. The energy is both resigned and exciting. The courtyard at the center of the complex once held the Forbidden Purple City which was accessible only to royalty, but was destroyed during the Tet Offensive in the 1960s. However, the citadel remains impressive, displaying the essence of the city鈥檚 and the country鈥檚 past within the large stone walls (over six-feet thick spanning over six-miles wrap around the entire area) and impressive moat, where the Nine Holy Cannons still act as protectorates of the palace and the kingdom.
Conclude the tour with a visit the handicraft village 鈥 Conical hat village - a traditional symbol of Vietnamese people without age, sex or racial distinctions before our see off at your hotel of stay.
