This 18 day private tour of Kenya and Tanzania offers some of the most outstanding safari experiences in the world. Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by your local representative and transferred to the nearby hotel for the evening. You will have the rest of the day at leisure.
After an early breakfast you will drive to the Maasai Mara. The drive via the scenic floor of the Great Rift Valley to Masai Mara is beautiful. Lunch will be in Narok a small Maasai town. You will then continue with your drive on to the western wall of the Great Rift Valley and arrive Maasai Mara in time for an evening game drive. Today a full day is spent in the park in search of the big five. The day starts at 0800hrs. You will be in the wild the whole day and visit the Mara River for hippos and crocodiles. You will have a packed lunch provided and will only return late evening with great memories of the great beauty of Kenya.
Today is another full day spent in the Maasai Mara on a game drive seeking some of the continents finest animals.
Today is another day in the famous home of the big five! You will have 2 game drives 0630hrs-1000hrs and 1600hrs to 1830hrs respectively. There is the opportunity to hopefully see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.
Today breakfast will be served early and then you will leave for a game drive en-route with your lunch box as you drive to the Sirari boarder point to cross in to Tanzania. Once you finish the immigration formalities you will change vehicle to take a Tanzanian Jeep to the Serengeti national park through Ndabaka Gate in the western corridor of Serengeti. You will arrive in the evening in time for a game drive.
Today you will have an early breakfast then complete a game drive in the beautiful Serengeti until early afternoon. You will transfer back for a hot lunch and then spend the afternoon relaxing. Late in the afternoon another game drive will begin into the early evening in famous Serengeti national Park. Hopefully you will get the opportunity to see all of the big five.
Today follows the same pattern as day 7 with an early morning game drive, hot lunch, then an early evening game drive.
After breakfast and with your picnic lunch packed, you will do a brief final game drive in the famous Serengeti before heading on to Ngorongoro in the afternoon. You will travel via Olduvai George which is believed to be home of the first human being. The skull of Homosapiens were discovered here by Dr. Leakey. There is the option this afternoon to visit a Optional Maasai Boma. You will then head early evening to your Hotel at the Crater rim.
After breakfast you will descend to the world's seventh wonder - Ngorongoro Crater. A caldera that was formed as a result of the great movement of the earth that formed the rift valley. The Ngorongoro wild reserve is home to a wide variety of wild life including the big cats and more than four hundred bird's species. Enjoy the wildlife till late in the evening then ascend to the crater rim for dinner.
After breakfast you will drive to L/Manyara National Park with your Picnic Lunch. This park is famous for its green scenery, varied bird life, tree-climbing lions, hippos baboons and many more wild animals. You will have a Game drive till late in the evening giving you plenty of opportunity to enjoy the magnificent landscapes formed by the Great Rift Valley structure.
You will have an early breakfast, then with your picnic lunch packed drive direct to Tarangire National Park, which is famous for its elephant population. Here you will have unique experiences seeing nature combine with the original way of life of the Masaai. Tarangire offers unparalleled game viewing, and during the dry season elephants abound. Families of the pachyderms play around the ancient trunks of baobab trees and strip acacia bark from the thorn trees for their afternoon meal. Breathtaking views of the Masaai Steppe and the mountains to the south make a stop at Tarangire a memorable experience.
Today is another early breakfast before a game drive in Tarangire National Park where you will see its beauty and what it can offer you. You will have another chance to see many animals like big herds of Elephants, Giraffes, Zebras, just to mention a few. Game drive till noon then drive to Arusha airport for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival in Zanzibar you will receive a meet and greet then transfer to Stone Town for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast you will embark on a full day trip that includes the use of top quality snorkeling equipment, ice cold sodas, mineral water and beer, a delicious Zanzibari seafood lunch with grilled fish and slipper lobster, gastronomic fruit tasting, coffee and Amarula liqueur. Safari Blue explores the Menai Bay Conservation Area, which is home to two different species of dolphins, the Indo-pacific humpback and the bottlenose. In the morning you will set down on one of the beautiful sandbanks where one can relax, swim or snorkel. There will be plenty of good quality snorkeling equipment and very experienced snorkeling guides who will show you the pristine coral reef, which teems with tropical sea life. Instruction is also available for beginners. After snorkeling cold drinks, fresh coconuts and local snacks you will go to Kwale island where you have your 鈥渄esert island鈥 restaurant. The lunch includes fish, slipper lobster, calamari, rice and sauces all served hot from the grill. Enjoy till evening.
Today you will depart to Jozani Forest which is one of the last remaining natural rain forests in East Africa. The forest is full of large exotic trees and harbors different species of Monkeys, especially the Red Colobus Monkeys whom are indigenous to the Island. It represents a very important refuge for the flora and fauna of the island, you will see also mangrove forest. Next you will depart for a Spice tour. Its offers visitors to Zanzibar an opportunity to tour plantations, to learn about the history of the island and the cultivation of spice plants, and to see many varieties of spices produced here. Your guide will give detailed descriptions of what the various plants are used for. Lunch will be at the spice plantation late afternoon and afterwards you will depart to your beach hotel.
After breakfast you can relax at leisure or participate in any number of optional sea activities e.g. Snorkeling: This you can do near your hotel as there are many coral garden reefs around Nungwi . For divers there are many nice dive site in Nungwi Sea or you can enjoy scuba diving/snorkelling at Mnemba Island Conservation area, on an optional tour. If you are interested in Deep sea fishing, Zanzibar is considered by experts to offer some of the best fishing in the world, especially on the Pemba Channel between Unguja Island and Pemba Island. They are so many recreational possibilities. All above can be booked directly in the hotels sports center.
Today is another day at leisure in Zanzibar to do as you choose.
Today at an agreed time you will be transferred to Zanzibar airport for your flight back home.
